 New Horizons Ministries Minimize

NHM Logo.gif

New Horizons Ministries has been serving Seattle's street youth population since 1978. The faces have changed over the years but the nature, heart and extraordinary resilience of these kids remains. That's how we see these youth – as people who are quite extraordinary.

ECF is developing a partnership to help New Horizons Ministries through volunteer support.  ECF members will have an opportunity to serve in a number of ways including preparing and serving meals, teaching a skill or hobby, and/or serving as a direct service volunteer in the drop-in center or on the streets

To learn about the ministry and ways to become involved visit the New Horizons website and then feel free to contact Pete or Theresa Hogenson who are acting as a connecting point between ECF and NHM

New Horizons 'Walk 08'- Click here for details and photos from the event on Saturday, June 7th.

New Horizons Food Groups- Last year New Horizons Ministries served over 15,000 meals to street youth at the drop-in center in Seattle.  This service is probably the most important that New Horizons provides as it is serves as a basis to begin building relationships with youth, providing them with alternatives to street life and the opportunity to develop a relationship with Christ.  As you can imagine putting together and serving over 15,000 meals is not an easy task and New Horizons is totally dependent on volunteers to give of their time and resouces to provide the food and serve the kids.

ECF is supporting this program currently with 3 teams. Down below we have put together a short read of what it is, what's involved and who is currently involved from ECF.  Please take the time to read this and let Theresa and I know if you are interested in serving.  There is always room for more volunteers and more hands make lighter work!  Thanks, Pete
